Nanni launches Q30000 marine generator range for superyachts, megayachts and commercial vessels

Today, shipyards and naval architects are facing a growing challenge: the demand for greater onboard power is increasing, while engine room space is shrinking and emissions regulations are becoming more stringent. These pressures factors are converging at once, calling for smarter, more efficient solutions to meet the needs of the next generation of larger vessels.

In response to these new requirements, Nanni is introducing the Q30000 this year at the Monaco Yacht Show as the new flagship of its marine generators offer, specially designed for high-demand applications of over 100 feets such as superyachts, megayachts, and commercial and military application.  With this product, Nanni is expanding its range of marine generator sets, reaching a new ceiling of power output going from 764kW to 1213 kW.

Why does the market for larger boats need this range?

As the superyacht, megayacht, commercial and merchant sectors continue to evolve, the demand for higher power output, greater efficiency, and compliance with increasingly stringent emissions regulations is reshaping genset specifications.

The rapid growth of the 100ft+ vessels is driving onboard power demands beyond the capabilities traditionally available from the market. At the same time, international emissions frameworks such as IMO II/III and Stage V are raising the technical requirements for large-vessel power generation.

In response to these market developments, Nanni has extended its power range from 764 kW up to 1213 kW, closing a significant power gap and enabling the company to address larger vessel projects that were previously outside its scope. For superyachts and megayachts over 100 feet, the focus is on providing reliable power while upholding the high standards of silence, comfort, and prestige expected on board.

In the workboat segment, the range is suited to demanding applications such as merchant vessels, RoRo Pax and Ro-Pax ferries, military vessels, cargo vessels, and tankers. Although these applications have significant differences in their operational requirements, they have one thing in common: fundamental priorities of high-power density, fuel flexibility, and compliance with increasingly stringent regulations.

This common engineering foundation enables the genset platform to deliver the necessary performance and flexibility across diverse marine environments.

From a regulatory perspective, the Q30000 is designed to minimize compliance risks from the outset of a project. With IMO II and III compliance, Stage V emissions compliance, and a complete certification pathway for Class Gensets with major classification societies, the platform offers shipyards and owners a clear regulatory framework for specifications and approvals.
