Marine engines
Nanni offers inboard motorization systems from 10 to 2200 horsepower (hp).
For marine engines, application ratings reflect the different operating needs of the boat. It is therefore essential to know the application requirements of the marine diesel engine to correctly match the power to the boat’s operating requirements.
- Nanni offers a range of marine engines for sailboats and catamarans, from 20 to 50 feet, from 10 to 230 hp, available with shaft drive or Sail Drive.
- For powerboats and planing boats, between 20 and 50 feet, the Nanni engine range offers power from 140 to 370 hp, with shaft line transmission or Stern Drive.
Marine diesel engines for these two segments are mainly based on Kubota and Toyota engines, making them easy to maintain, with compact marinization and an excellent power-to-weight ratio. Numerous shipyards, including Lagoon, Bali, Fountaine Pajot, Outremer, Imoca and Jeanneau in the sailing segment, and Hinclkley, Bertram, Fratelli Aprea and Nordhavn (N4.140 and N4.115 engines) in the powerboat segment, have placed their trust in Nanni by equipping their boats with our engines, testifying to the quality, reliability and performance of our marine solutions.
- For yachts between 50 and 100 feet, Nanni offers a range of marine diesel engines from 400 to 2200 hp, available with shaftline, jet or surface propeller drive, ensuring reliable power and optimum performance at sea. Here again, brands such as Vanquish and Sunreef have decided to equip their boats with Nanni engines.
- In the commercial segment, Nanni offers a range of marine diesel propulsion engines for naval vessels, fishing boats, passenger ships and the oil and gas industry. Designed for boats up to 100 feet, the Nanni marine engine range offers power from 100 to 2200 hp.
- And for passenger ferries, container ships, military vessels and oil tankers over 100 feet, in the naval segment, Nanni solutions guarantee reliable power and optimum performance at sea.
With John Deere, Scania or MAN based marine engines, these diesel marine engines are ideal for heavy-duty applications while providing low fuel consumption. In fact, many renowned shipyards and shipowners in the professional segments have adopted Nanni engines, including Fassmer (N3.30 and N4.38 engines) and Fassmer USA, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, Windcat WorksBoat, Chantier naval Piriou, San Giogio del Porto, Hatecke, Viking Norsafe (T4.270 engines) and K-Ships, choosing our solutions for their performance, reliability and innovation.
Marine generators
Nanni marine gensets are designed to meet the needs of both pleasure boaters and professionals.
Available power ranges from 5 to 800 kW, in 50 and 60 Hz, single-phase or three-phase. The following configurations are available:
Without soundproof cabin: these marine generators allow the most versatile connections and adapt to a wide variety of situations inside the hull.
With soundproof cabin: these marine generators feature an acoustic enclosure made of insulated panels, with multiple access ports for all necessary connections and maintenance elements, including visual access for lifting.
With Soundless cab: Nanni’s new Soundless technology reduces the noise level of marine generators by 10 decibels, making it the best soundproofing technology on the market. Available for models ranging from 20 kW to 150 kW, Soundless generators are the best solution for use on pleasure boats, guaranteeing comfort and performance for the owner.
As an example, a refit project for the Sanlorenzo shipyard using Soundless marine generators has opened up new perspectives for yachts, combining performance and absolute silence. Indeed, these marine generators have changed the sailing experience, offering incomparable comfort and tranquility.
Maneuvering systems and accessories
The Nanni range of accessories includes control systems, joysticks, digital instrument panels and other interfaces. These devices are functional, easy-to-use and ergonomic, suitable for all marine installations.
MAREX ECS: Marex ECS (Easy Control System) is the Nanni electronic control system. Designed to provide the user with the most ergonomic control of the engines during navigation.
This system is available on the entire range of Nanni propulsion engines.
JOYSTICK MANOVERING SYSTEM: The joystick maneuvering system enables the helmsman to control the boat simply and intuitively. The operator moves the joystick and the boat reproduces the movement exactly. The controller automatically compensates for external influences such as wind or current.
DISPLAY SI.4.3: Intuitive, interactive and reliable, this digital instrument panel gives the owner access to all engine parameters during navigation.

- KSHIPS: Another notable example is the marine motorization project with the San Giorgio del Porto shipyard, the SG116, which marks a significant step forward in the shipbuilding industry. Built by the San Giorgio del Porto shipyard, this is the first methanol transport vessel in the Mediterranean. The vessel is equipped with MAN engines and generators supplied by Nanni, which leverages its marinization know-how for optimum installation. The vessel is equipped with a MAN 175D 1800 kW engine configured as a generator, ensuring reliable and efficient propulsion power. It runs on both diesel and methanol (Duel Fuel), and features an SRC system to comply with current anti-pollution standards (IMO tier III). In addition, two D2842 LE327 752 kW auxiliary generators with an SRC system are installed, each providing constant power for the ship’s systems. Finally, a 240 kW D2676 LE323 emergency generator ensures safety and continuity of operations in the event of an emergency. This configuration considerably reduces the vessel’s environmental impact and promotes more respectful navigation. As a result of this fruitful collaboration, three Nanni Q12000 – 355WT50 (355 kW), three-phased, 50 Hz generators, developed on a MAN engine base and covering power ratings from 177 kW to 764 kW, will equip a ferry linking Sardinia and Corsica. This marine project illustrates Nanni’s commitment to reliable, high-performance marine energy solutions, reinforcing our mission to support the marine industry with cutting-edge technologies. Our aim is to optimize energy efficiency and on-board reliability for sustainable navigation.
