Vendée Globe : New Nanni partnership with Arnaud Boissières

This edition of the Vendée Globe 2024 marks the start of an emblematic new partnership for Nanni, with skipper Arnaud Boissières and his IMOCA boat La Mie Câline. This collaboration represents a new step in Nanni’s energy transition strategy and aims to reinforce a shared commitment to more responsible sailing.

About Arnaud Boissières and his IMOCA boat La Mie Câline

A native of the Bassin d’Arcachon, where he took his first steps as a sailor, Arnaud Boissières, also known as “Cali”, is an emblematic figure in French sailing. This partnership was an obvious choice for Nanni, who shares the same local origins as the skipper.

He then settled in Les Sables d’Olonne, which became his home port. This emblematic sailing location is now his base, where he prepares each of his adventures and finds inspiration for his next challenges at sea.

He is the only skipper to have completed four consecutive Vendée Globe races, a feat that testifies to his tenacity and endurance.
For his 5th participation in the race, he will be aboard his IMOCA La Mie Câline, powered by a Nanni N4.38 engine.

The Nanni N4.38 is a compact, high-performance marine engine. With 38 horsepower, it is ideal for the needs of skippers like Arnaud Boissières, whose main use during the race will be as a generator. Renowned for its robustness and durability, the N4.38 is equipped for safe sailing, with simplified maintenance. What’s more, it meets the latest emissions standards, while offering reduced fuel consumption.

A partnership that goes further

This year, Arnaud Boissières will be supported by Nanni, as the technical partner for his engine during the Vendée Globe 2024 race. Nanni will also contribute to the development of a cleaner carbon footprint for his IMOCA in the coming years and for his next races.

With the ambition of competing in the Vendée Globe 2028 without the use of fossil fuels to power onboard equipment, Nanni and Arnaud will be working to integrate alternative propulsion solutions such as HVO or hybrid on the IMOCA La Mie Câline.

This partnership is part of a vision of energy transition, supported by Nanni and its innovations, through Arnaud Boissières and all his emblematic races. Nanni will support him not only during the race, but also in future competitions. Together, we share a common goal: to reduce the environmental impact of each adventure at sea, without ever compromising performance.
